  • 2015: The Yamaha R25 was officially launched on February 5, 2015, at Sepang International Circuit, and subsequently available to the Malaysian market in April 2015. It quickly became popular among young riders since then. It was available in two colours: Racing Blue and Diablo Red.

  • 2016-2018: The Yamaha R25 received various colour updates of blue and matte grey, while the red colour was discontinued. Followed by matte black with gold wheels where the price remained unchanged.

  • 2019: The Yamaha R25 received a major facelift and several upgrades. It had a MotoGP-inspired look with a new front fairing, dual LED headlights, and a central air duct. It also had an updated digital instrument panel, a new exhaust system, and improved suspension settings. The 2019 model closely resembled the YZF-R1 and YZF-R6, and Yamaha claimed that its new aerodynamic bodywork raised the top speed of the R25 by 8 km/h. It was available in Racing Blue, Matte Black and Matte Red.

  • 2020-2021: The Yamaha YZF-R25 was updated with a new colour options of Matte Silver and Matte Blue in 2020, and Cyan Metallic in 2021, replacing the Matte Silver variant for the Malaysian market.

  • 2022: The Yamaha YZF-R25 received significant upgrade including ABS, LED turn indicators as standard, and available in two new colours: Orange Lynx and Racing Blue. 

  • 2023: The Yamaha YZF-R25 was updated with only aesthetic changes. A new color Midnight Star was introduced replacing Orange Lynx of 2022.
